  1. Click on Start and then Run.

  2. Type the following command in the Open: text box, and then hit the Enter key or click on the OK button.

    devmgmt.msc

    Device Manager should display right away.

  3. That's all there is to it! Now you can use Device Manager to update device drivers, view the system resources that Windows XP has assigned to your hardware devices, etc.
