Looking for the NETGEAR GS105E default password? You probably have little reason to access your switch on a regular basis so don't feel too bad if you've forgotten the GS105E default password.
However, when you're troubleshooting a network problem and need to get in to the device, the GS105E default password suddenly becomes very important.
For most versions of the NETGEAR GS105E, the default password is password. As with most passwords, the GS105E default password is case sensitive.
In addition to the GS105E default password, you can also see the GS105E default username and GS105E default IP address in the table below.
If I have that information, I'll include the exact GS105E version number along with the correct default password. You can usually find your NETGEAR GS105E version number on the bottom of the switch.
Help! The GS105E Default Password Doesn't Work!
At some point during the life of your particular NETGEAR GS105E, the default password, username, and/or IP address might have been changed.
For most networks, if the NETGEAR GS105E default IP address has been changed, the new IP address for the GS105E switch can be determined using tracert, a command available from the Command Prompt in Windows.
See How To Identify Network Hardware IP Addresses on a Local Network if you need help using tracert to find the GS105E default IP address.
In situations where the GS105E default password or GS105E default username has changed, you'll need to reset the NETGEAR GS105E to factory defaults. You can usually do that via a special button or sequence of actions.
The GS105E manual will have specific directions for performing a factory default reset. You can download the manual for the GS105E from NETGEAR Support.
GS105E Default Password & Other Default Login Data
|Version||Default Username||Default Password||Default IP||Privileges|
|All||[none]||password||DHCP1 or 192.168.0.2392||Administrator|
 DHCP is enabled by default on the GS105E. As long as a DHCP server is available when the GS105E is powered on, the switch will receive a dynamic IP address. See How To Identify Network Hardware IP Addresses on a Local Network if you need help finding this IP address.
 If the GS105E switch is powered on but no DHCP server is available, it will assign itself the static IP address of 192.168.0.239.
