Fix Ieframe.dll Problems

By , About.com GuideMarch 20, 2008

Follow me on:

After Internet Explorer 7 came out, a number of Windows users ran into the "Res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#" error or the "File Not Found C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\IEFRAME.DLL" error. Even though IE7 has been out for quite some time, this is still a common error that I see talked about around the Internet.

Unfortunately, I write a lot about DLL errors. They're very common and often painful to troubleshoot. Ieframe.dll errors are especially troubling because they can show up for a huge number of reasons. There are, however, plenty of things you can to do fix them. Give it a shot yourself before you pay a bunch to that "squad" of computer experts downtown.

I was hijacked by the java script virus last week. Since then I am unable to open Internet Explorer at all. It does not show up in my Control Panel as a valid file, but will not download as it says I have a more recent version of Internet Explorer on my computer. I realized when I downloaded and ran Spybot that my network connection is still redirecting to a proxy IP, and I am unable to figure out how to remove the proxy setting so that I can run Itunes. Please help!

Another villain causing ieframe.dll problems seems to be Uniblue’s Registry Booster. Deleting it solved the problem after all the other suggestions did not do the trick. Thanks for your help.
