I've had nothing but good experiences with this company and they don't charge nearly as much as the other companies around here. UW DOIT (if you can)
- The best help I've found has been through the UW DOIT helpline. If you're eligible for this through a UW connection you should definitely use it. Otherwise, go with a recommendation from someone who has used a particular repair service. The worst I've found was a local place - Computer Repair Pros in Monona - seemed nice and knowledgeable but wound up overcharging me terribly and not fixing the problem, and then just refusing to deal with the situation.

- I have used many computer repair shops in Madison including "The Geeks". Most big chain stores hire inexperienced teenagers to do the work. I have found the service very bad and very expensive. Usually they will try and sell you something you don't really need. I recommend going to a locally owned computer repair shop who hires older, experienced and certified technicians. The quality of service is superior, they know what they are doing, they won't try to sell you something you don't need and the price is very reasonable. Recently I have been using Computer Medics to service my home and business computers. I have been very happy with them. They do a great job at a reasonable price.
