Definition: To reseat something means to unplug or remove it and then to plug it back in or reinstall it.
Reseating peripheral cards, power and interface cables, memory modules, and other devices that plug into a computer is a common troubleshooting step. Reseating a computer component will often fix problems caused by loose connections.
Examples:
"After turning on my computer for the first time in my new apartment, it wouldn't come on. I thought maybe something came loose during the move so I opened it up and reseated all the cables and cards. Sure enough - that was it!"
