What is the Logon Command?:

The logon command is a Recovery Console command used to log you on to a Windows installation.

Logon Command Syntax:

logon

The logon command has no additional switches or options.

Logon Command Examples:
logon

In the above example, typing the logon command will list all installations of Windows that Recovery Console can find on your computer. After choosing the Windows installation you want to log on to, Recovery Console will ask for the administrator password for that installation.

Note: After three unsuccessful attempts to log on to a Windows installation, Recovery Console will close and your computer will restart.

Logon Command Availability:

The logon command is only available from within the Recovery Console in Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Logon Related Commands:

The logon command is often used with many other Recovery Console commands.
