Looking for the NETGEAR GSM7224 default password? You probably have little reason to access your switch on a regular basis so don't feel too bad if you've forgotten the GSM7224 default password.
However, when you're troubleshooting a network problem and need to get in to the device, the GSM7224 default password suddenly becomes very important.
For most versions of the NETGEAR GSM7224, there is no default password. In other words, when logging in to the GSM7224, just leave the password field blank if asked for one.
In addition to the GSM7224 default password, you can also see the GSM7224 default username and GSM7224 default IP address in the table below.
If I have that information, I'll include the exact GSM7224 version number along with the correct default password. You can usually find your NETGEAR GSM7224 version number on the bottom of the switch.
Help! The GSM7224 Default Password Doesn't Work!
At some point during the life of your particular NETGEAR GSM7224, the default password, username, and/or IP address might have been changed.
For most networks, if the NETGEAR GSM7224 default IP address has been changed, the new IP address for the GSM7224 switch can be determined using tracert, a command available from the Command Prompt in Windows.
See How To Identify Network Hardware IP Addresses on a Local Network if you need help using tracert to find the GSM7224 default IP address.
In situations where the GSM7224 default password or GSM7224 default username has changed, you'll need to reset the NETGEAR GSM7224 to factory defaults. You can usually do that via a special button or sequence of actions.
The GSM7224 manual will have specific directions for performing a factory default reset. You can download the manual for the GSM7224 from NETGEAR Support.
GSM7224 Default Password & Other Default Login Data
|Version||Default Username||Default Password||Default IP||Privileges|
|All||admin||[none]||DHCP1 | 169.254.100.1002||Administrator|
 DHCP is enabled by default on the GSM7224. As long as a DHCP server is available when the GSM7224 is powered on, the switch will receive a dynamic IP address. See How To Identify Network Hardware IP Addresses on a Local Network if you need help finding this IP address.
 If the GSM7224 switch is powered on but no DHCP server is available, it will assign itself the static IP address of 169.254.100.100.
