Looking for the NETGEAR GS748T default password? You probably have little reason to access your switch on a regular basis so don't feel too bad if you've forgotten the GS748T default password.
However, when you're troubleshooting a network problem and need to get in to the device, the GS748T default password suddenly becomes very important.
For most versions of the NETGEAR GS748T, the default password is password. As with most passwords, the GS748T default password is case sensitive.
In addition to the GS748T default password, you can also see the GS748T default username and GS748T default IP address in the table below.
Note: The NETGEAR GS748T default password may be different for certain hardware or firmware versions.
If I have that information, I'll include the exact GS748T version number along with the correct default password. You can usually find your NETGEAR GS748T version number on the bottom of the switch.
Be sure to change the default switch password on your GS748T to something more secure as soon as you're in. Then use a free password manager so you'll never forget your new GS748T password.
Help! The GS748T Default Password Doesn't Work!
At some point during the life of your particular NETGEAR GS748T, the default password, username, and/or IP address might have been changed.
For most networks, if the NETGEAR GS748T default IP address has been changed, the new IP address for the GS748T switch can be determined using tracert, a command available from the Command Prompt in Windows.
See How To Identify Network Hardware IP Addresses on a Local Network if you need help using tracert to find the GS748T default IP address.
In situations where the GS748T default password or GS748T default username has changed, you'll need to reset the NETGEAR GS748T to factory defaults. You can usually do that via a special button or sequence of actions.
The GS748T manual will have specific directions for performing a factory default reset. You can download the manual for the GS748T from NETGEAR Support.
Please let me know if any of the GS748T default login data below needs updated. For other questions about the GS748T default information on this page, see my Default Password FAQ.

[1] DHCP is enabled by default on the GS748T. As long as a DHCP server is available when the GS748T is powered on, the switch will receive a dynamic IP address. See How To Identify Network Hardware IP Addresses on a Local Network if you need help finding this IP address.
[2] If the GS748T switch is powered on but no DHCP server is available, it will assign itself the static IP address of 192.168.0.239.
