System error codes will appear in software programs and in various areas within the Windows operating system after certain errors occur.
Important: A system error code is not the same as a Device Manager
error code or a browser error code, even though the error numbers may sometimes be the same.
Below is a list of system error codes from Code 6000 to Code 6099, along with a description of what the error code means.

Error Code 6000
System error code 6000 means "The specified file could not be encrypted." This error code may also display as "ERROR_ENCRYPTION_FAILED" or as the value 0x1770.Error Code 6001
System error code 6001 means "The specified file could not be decrypted." This error code may also display as "ERROR_DECRYPTION_FAILED" or as the value 0x1771.Error Code 6002
System error code 6002 means "The specified file is encrypted and the user does not have the ability to decrypt it." This error code may also display as "ERROR_FILE_ENCRYPTED" or as the value 0x1772.Error Code 6003
System error code 6003 means "There is no valid encryption recovery policy configured for this system." This error code may also display as "ERROR_NO_RECOVERY_POLICY" or as the value 0x1773.Error Code 6004
System error code 6004 means "The required encryption driver is not loaded for this system." This error code may also display as "ERROR_NO_EFS" or as the value 0x1774.Error Code 6005
System error code 6005 means "The file was encrypted with a different encryption driver than is currently loaded." This error code may also display as "ERROR_WRONG_EFS" or as the value 0x1775.Error Code 6006
System error code 6006 means "There are no EFS keys defined for the user." This error code may also display as "ERROR_NO_USER_KEYS" or as the value 0x1776.Error Code 6007
System error code 6007 means "The specified file is not encrypted." This error code may also display as "ERROR_FILE_NOT_ENCRYPTED" or as the value 0x1777.Error Code 6008
System error code 6008 means "The specified file is not in the defined EFS export format." This error code may also display as "ERROR_NOT_EXPORT_FORMAT" or as the value 0x1778.Error Code 6009
System error code 6009 means "The specified file is read only." This error code may also display as "ERROR_FILE_READ_ONLY" or as the value 0x1779.
