Microsoft today released a fix resolving a font related issue when installing Microsoft Office 2010 on a computer running Windows Vista or Windows 2008:
Operating Systems Affected: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and 2, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2
KB Article: 980248
This update replaces several fonts with newer versions, something that should have occurred during your Office 2010 installation. This may not have happened because many fonts are marked as system protected and refused to be overwritten during the Office 2010 installation process.
Specifically, if you received the following error during your installation of Office 2010, this update should correct the problem:
Error 1907. Could not register font. Verify that you have sufficient permissions to install fonts, and that the system supports this font
The easiest way to apply this update is via Windows Update. You can also download the file for your operating system here for offline installation.
