ALWAYS Backup the Registry Before Editing. ALWAYS.

Wednesday November 26, 2008
It doesn't matter if you're "absolutely sure" that a Windows Registry edit you're about to make could in no way cause a problem, please, back up anyway. It takes less than a minute.

You would not believe the times I've seen a computer "expert" disable an entire system because of a seemingly benign registry edit. To be honest, I've done it - once. Since then, I've backed up each and every time. It's just the smartest thing to do unless you enjoy losing access to your computer for no good reason.

Anyone else brave enough to share a registry blooper with the world?
