STOP Errors Defined

Monday November 24, 2008
Ever wonder what all that "computer junk" is that comes up on a Blue Screen of Death?

There's a lot on there but a key part is called the STOP code - a code number that provides a place to start troubleshooting from when you receive a STOP error message (the actual name for a Blue Screen of Death).

Of course a code is only good if you have some way to decode it so I've put together an up-to-date list of all possible STOP codes in Windows along with short descriptions of what they mean.

Luckily STOP errors happen less often in later versions of Windows but unfortunately they're still around and still cause a fair share of headaches.
