Update to the Latest Vista and XP Service Packs

Thursday August 28, 2008
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) and Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) have both been out for some time now. Have you updated?

Service packs include improvements like security updates, feature additions, and system stability fixes. Many of these improvements are included in your regular, much smaller patches you might receive weekly but some are not.

Both service packs have been out for a while now so they should be safe to use. I've been running both for some time with no problem.

Have you updated to the latest service pack? If not, why not? Let me know in the comments.

Yea, those are one of those difficult kind of drivers to find because they come from the manufacturer of the hardware that contains the SigmaTel chip, not SigmaTel themselves.

Dell will have to provide this driver unless Microsoft has/creates a driver that supports it.

I downloaded SP3 for my XP. Everything is fine. Drivers were easy to update, and I appreciate the added security.
