Optimize the Windows Vista Power Button

Thursday January 3, 2008
If you didn't already know, the start menu power button in Windows Vista is configured to put your computer in sleep mode by default. While this may be fine for some, you may want the power button to put your computer in hibernate mode or, more likely, you'd like the power button to simply shut down your computer.

If you haven't changed the start menu power button but still shut down your computer every night, you know very well that it's an annoying, multi-mouse-click process. In other words - a waste of your time and patience. Reconfiguring the start menu power button will probably shave a few seconds off this daily process.
