The Most Important [Technology realted] New Years Resolution: BACK IT UP!

Thursday December 20, 2007
It wasn't too long ago I blogged about online and offline backup services but considering that we're only a week and a half from 2008, I thought I would take this opportunity to remind everyone that doesn't already - YOU NEED TO BEGIN BACKING UP YOUR DATA! I can not stress this enough.

If you have room for a technology related New Years Resolution, put backing up your data at the top of that list. It's something that you'll really wish you had done after a computer melt down. All that music you downloaded, all those videos you produced, all those priceless photographs you took, all those documents you spent hours and hours of your life authoring - all gone.

All it takes to prevent a catastrophe like that is to be a little proactive and backup your data. There are traditional backup options and online backup options. Don't stress about the choices - any kind of backup is better than no backup.

Have a "data disaster" story or a "backup saved my life" story? Let me know! I may include your story in an upcoming article.
